It is unbelieveably beautiful in Scotland at the moment. This shows the Pap of Glencoe, picture taken in November.
Because self catering offers the finest value for money holiday you can buy, and because the Summer weather is forecasted to be good this year for Scotland, this should turn out to be a good year for Highland visitors.
For example our cottage would cost you only £21 per head per night at peak season. The comparative costs for hotels and B+B would be higher. Ok, so camping would be cheaper, I grant you that.
The USA weather prediction centre has pointed out that the Gulf Stream in the North Atlantic has stablilised for the first time in years, and also that the warm waters of the Pacific, La Nina, which affects the winds in the upper atmosphere will push the cold air stream much further North. This bodes well for Scottish weather.
So many cottages will be full in the Summer. With money being tight, people will book later and later, but our advice is not to leave it too late.
Have a lovely time wherever you go, though.
